In light of the recent political unrest in Bahrain, the AhlulBayt Societies, in collaboration with KCL Action Palestine, invite you to an event discussing Bahrain’s current political situation, the most recent developments, its neglect by the media, and what the future holds.
Speakers will be:
Mehdi Hasan (Senior Political Editor of the New Statesman)
Maryam Al-Khawaja (Head of Foreign Relations Office at the Bahrain Center for Human Rights)
John Lubbock (Advocacy Officer at the Bahrain Center for Human Rights)
Mohammed Sadiq (Justice for Bahrain) **New Speaker!!**
The format will take that of a talk by Mehdi Hasan, followed by a Question Time panel with our highly reputed representatives from the BCHR and Justice For Bahrain.
There will be ample opportunity for Q&A at the end. We look forward to seeing you all there, for what promises to be an excellent event which will hopefully allow for debate on and increase awareness of the situation in Bahrain.
The nearest station is Waterloo, and the campus is a few minutes walk away. Refreshments will be served.
This event is being hosted jointly by the following societies:
KCL, UCL, SOAS, Kingston, Queen Mary, Imperial, Westminster, LSOP, Brunel, City and Portsmouth Ahlul Bayt Societies and KCL Action Palestine.
